Meditation is basically the process of breathing. By sitting quietly and focusing on the breath you can allow yourself to just be. As you focus your breath on the low abdomen or the seat of qi, you are gathering your energy, and solidifying it. As you continue to put breath in the seat of qi, the body then begins to move it to where it is needed in the body. You do not need to direct it, you just need to keep breathing. When we begin to do this breathing or meditating, we begin to feel who we are inside. Sometimes we feel sensations that we have labeled sadness, anger, frustration, anxiety, and depression. The list goes on. Remember that these sensations are brought about because energy is or isn’t moving in certain places. By breathing into the low abdomen, one can begin to bring about change in how this energy is or isn’t moving.
By learning to sense and feel the energy we have inside, we become stronger and better able to cope with the challenges of life and live a more balanced and healthy life.
